19 years ago we celebrated our one-year wedding anniversary overlooking Yellowstone Lake as we entered through the East Entrance on our way to jobs with the Yellowstone Association at the Lamar Buffalo Ranch.
A lot has changed in our two decades together, but one thing that hasn’t is our love for getting out into the wilderness. So that’s exactly what we did to celebrate 20 years together.
Here are some of the sights from our 3-day backpack in the Hellroaring area, and some of the wonderful souls we shared our time with:
bison
elk
pronghorn
black bear
Canada goose
Uinta ground squirrel
badger
golden eagle
bald eagle
northern harrier
Stellar’s jay
junco
song sparrow
ruddy duck
Barrow’s goldeneye
cinnamon teal
widgeon
mallard
coot
eared grebe
meadowlark
robin
kestrel
sharp-shinned hawk
Even after all this time, Yellowstone still gives us deep awe and inspiration. It’s nice to know you can still walk away from the busy roadside and crowds into the wilderness. Thanks to dear friends for watching LG and giving us this precious time to celebrate being together.
